Are you coming to visit the Mass Aggie Seed Library for the first time from off-campus?
The best time to avoid the students and get free parking is after 5 pm or on Sunday. I will not be here, but please feel free to leave me a note or suggestion. And please remember to sign the guest book!
What’s new in the Mass Aggie Seed Library Spring 2022?
New things you might notice:
Some drawers are labeled by family
The card catalog seed drawers are a bit messy
Individual pre-packaged seeds in small envelopes
Separate drawers with mystery seeds labeled "Who Knows"
The pre-packaged seeds in the small envelopes have the name of the grower and the name of the seed variety. For specific growing instructions, go to the website of the grower and find the seed variety.
With patrons returning donated seed in a variety of packaging, the seed envelope sizes are uneven and therefore the seed drawers are a bit messy to accommodate the variety of sizes.
"Who Knows" contains those seeds that do not meet our mission of organic, open-pollinated seeds, items donated with unclear labeling, or those seeds out of date. Instead of throwing them away, we offer them to to with this understanding and as a way to learn about seed issues. Be Curious - ask us why they are separated from the other seeds! What makes them different?

Mass Aggie Third Friday Seed Frenzy Workshops
Let go of the stress, and work with your hands to plant a seed for the future. After being in your head all week, come to the Mass Aggie Seed Library to learn about seed saving, help clean and package seeds, update the seed inventory, or begin some seeds for planting. Open to everyone!
This hands-on workshop will be held the third Friday afternoon of each month and will be limited to five attendees with sign-up required. Each month will be different depending on what needs to be done - cleaning and packaging collected seed, updating the cabinet inventory, or starting seeds for planting.
Friday 1 - 3 pm in the Science & Engineering Library (SEL) studio classroom space.
To register email firstname.lastname@example.org
After successful completion of the workshop, attendees will become Mass Aggie Seed Library Ambassadors and have the opportunity to come back, help out as time and schedules permit, and create and execute projects of their own related to seeds and seed saving. Grow, Learn, and Thrive!
