The UMass Amherst Libraries supports the publication of open access journals through ScholarWorks. We can help you migrate a journal from another publishing platform, launch and publish a new journal in your field, and provide an open access home for inactive journals.
We provide guidance on best practices in open access publishing, will assist you with getting an ISSN for your journal, and will create DOIs for all published content.
Any member of the UMass Amherst community may start a journal, we just ask that student run journals have a faculty advisor to ensure continuity.
