- GACoS - University of Tokyo LibraryA short handbook on how to do library research, available in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean.
- 論文指導(論文の書き方)This guide looks like it was developed for foreign students writing in Japanese. Lots of furigana and helpful information.
- Monumenta Nipponica Style SheetIf you are writing in English but using Japanese sources, one of the most thoughtful guides to help you is the Monumenta Nipponica Style Sheet. It is adapted from the Chicago Manual of Style.
- A Student's Guide to Writing in Japanese. This is intended for writing in English and contains a lot of Harvard specific information, but I am adding it here because it is so useful.
- jWriterAre you curious about your level of writing in Japanese? Test it out on this site.
- Citing an ebook without page numbersA. Yes, you can cite the location numbers, although unless a reader has the Kindle edition of that work, the numbers will be of little use for finding the text. Like unpaged online content, Kindle editions are best cited with reference to chapter titles or numbers, subheadings, or a unique phrase that can be located by searching.
