The theme of Love Data Week 2024 is "My Kind of Data". We will be celebrating UMass types of data as well as what makes your research and your data unique!

ICPSR is the official host of Love Data Week, and libraries across the world are celebrating and offering events. For more about Love Data Week in general, visit the Love Data Week website.

Events

Monday February 12:

  • Workshop: Where do I put my data? Find a repository for your data and research outputs. 4-5pm, Calipari Room, W.E.B. Du Bois Library
    • Many research funders require data to be shared in a repository and available to the public. You may also have other data, conference publications, or other research products that you want to share. Repositories also preserve your data safely for the long term and ensure it will be available to you and to others in the future. Come learn about the different types of repositories, what you will need to do to prepare your data for deposit, and how to find the right type of repository for your data.

Come learn about the open-source desktop application OpenRefine! OpenRefine can help you clean your messy data, convert values to other formats, normalize your data, and more! You are encouraged to bring your own machine and follow along. Instructions on how to set up OpenRefine will be sent to registrants ahead of the workshop.
