Assignment 6: Analyze Company Decisions

Assignment 6 Summary.  Review your Virtual-Team's research findings from Assignments 2 through 5. Identify and list decisions made (over the last 5 years) by the two primary, and two competitor companies chosen by your Virtual Team.  Choose and describe at least one appropriate (good) decision, and one inappropriate (bad) decision made by your Virtual-Team's primary and competitor companies in each of the 2-NAICS Codes studied by your Virtual-Team. You will comment on a total of 8 decisions. Your Executive Summaries should justify the choices.  

Assignment 6: Items to keep in Mind:

For Assignments 2 through 5, you have developed a "picture" of what a company and its competitor look like within a particular NAICS Code classification. As this picture has evolved, you observed many company decisions. You should have also developed a sense of what the "outside world" thinks of a company - its public image. 
For Assignment 6, your Team should be "reflective" about the decision-making of your primary and competitor companies.
  Virtual-Teams should state what they would have done (if they were in control) and describe the decisions they would have made.
Virtual-Teams should provide a convincing argument about whether the decisions reached were appropriate or inappropriate.


    Assignment 6: Performance Goals

      Virtual-Teams identify 8 specific decisions made by the primary company and its competitor in the past five years.
      Virtual-Teams select the decisions that team members view as appropriate and inappropriate.
      Virtual-Teams justify their findings and report the findings through Executive Summary.
      Virtual-Teams publish the Executive Summary in Virtual-Team Site by the due date.

    Assignment 6: Instructions

    1. Review all Virtual-Team Executive Summaries for Assignments 2 through 5.

    2. If you need additional information about the decisions, return to BSP/BSC.  Connect:  NUI - Galway; UMass Amherst; AU - Cairo; Chiao Tung U

    3. Select one appropriate decision and one inappropriate decision for the primary company and its competitor in each of the two NAICS code industries your Virtual-Team studied (a total of 8 company decisions).

    4. Write Executive Summaries.  Describe the company decisions and why they were made. For each company decision, justify your opinion about the company's decision-making.  When your Virtual-Team completes the main portion of your Executive Summary, be sure to add a Cultural Addendum to the Executive Summary (100 words in length) explaining how the Assignment 6 Topic might be impacted by cultural norms in their particular Country.

    5. Post your Executive Summaries to your Virtual-Team Sub-Site in the Cloud Course Portal.
