Library Services for Distance Education - Continuing Professional Education (CPE)

Research Articles Online:

Search for articles in the 200+ databases to which the UMass Amherst Libraries subscribe, providing on-line full text from scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers, reference sources, and some books.

For Help with Databases:

• Consult the Subject Research Guides to discover the best resources for your research and to discover the librarian for that area.
  
  
• Contact the Subject Librarian for the area you are researching 
  
  
• Contact the Ask a librarian service for help with research

When searching databases:

• Be sure to know about the Full-text filter avaiable from most databases.  It is usually available in the Limiters section of the search screen..  Full-text articles are articles that can be printed directly from the database. Click the red button labeled UMLinks to get a list of options for obtaining the article.
  
  
• If the instructor has asked for Schlolarly or Peer-Reviewed publications, look for the box to click in the limiters section of the search screen.
  
  
• Library Express will deliver photocopies or scans of articles from the Libraries' paper journal subscriptions. Photocopies or scans of articles from journals the Libraries don't subscribe to can be obtained through Interlibrary Loan
