University Without Walls

This guide introduces UWW students to research skills.

University Without Walls

Welcome to the Research Portal for the University Without Walls Program.
Here you will find out how to find resources relevant to projects assigned to you in UWW.  As UWW is an interdisciplinary program, this guide should serve as a starting point for research rather than a comprehensive guide to the literature available at the library.

The tabs on the left side of the page show how to find books, periodicals, and other library resources both here at the library and from a remote location. There are videos embedded throughout the guide to help you to better understand the resources avaible to you through UMass. If you need more personalized help, E-mail is always the quickest way to contact me at maccourt@library.umass.edu.

Please be aware that I only work Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays; so please be patient if you do not get an immediate response from meI look forward to working with you.

For more immediate help, please contact the Reference Desk at 413-545-0150 or at http://libanswers.library.umass.edu/

Introduction to the UMass Website Search Interface

This video is a good introduction to the UMass Libraries Web Interface.  Some things have
changed since it was made, mostly the scope links (under the search box) are now on a
drop-down menu to the left of the search box.  The other major change is that we no longer
use UMA WorldCat as our default search, instead we use Discovery Search which is profiled
in the two videos below.
