Research Data Management

What is Data Management?

Per the NNLM, "Research data management is the organization, documentation, storage, and preservation of the data resulting from the research process, where data can be broadly defined as the outcome of experiments or observations that validate research findings, and can take a variety of forms including numerical output (quantitative data), qualitative data, documentation, images, audio, and video."

Research data management is the steps that are taken at the start of your research project and throughout to manage and organize your data. It incorporates file naming, file and folder organization, documentation, spreadsheet setup, and many more tasks! We are available to consult and help you set up best practices for your research.
