Public policy memos

Public policy memos are meant to provide research, analysis, and recommendations regarding a public policy issue. They should be clear and carefully constructed, allowing the reader to easily understand the arguments being made and the suggestions on the best way to proceed. Take into account the audience you are writing for; depending on their expertise you may have to provide more or less background information, or adjust the writing style to be more or less technical.

Public policy memos include reference to legislation, court cases, other policy papers, academic research, data, and/or public sentiment.
