Online reference books

This assignment is based on [Insert lecture topic and/or date here] 

Goal: Find background information using a subscription-based encyclopedia

  • Go to the Library's homepage.
  • Click on Databases
  • At the bottom of the page, click on Dictionaries & Encyclopedias
  • Select Gale Virtual Reference Library (a collection of several hundred current subject encyclopedias).
  • At the top of the screen, type "insert keyword here" (include quotes)
  • Select one entry and read the contents.

Post to the group:

  • The title of the entry you read
  • The encyclopedia in which it was published.
  • A relevant quote from the entry.
  • A question based on the entry that also relates to [insert lecture/topic and/or date here].
