Library Research Tips While Abroad
- Know
your OIT net id and password; you’ll need it to log onto library databases while you're away.
- Bring
your UMass photo ID to the Library; you’ll need the barcode on the front to order materials through InterLibrary Loan.
- InterLibrary Loan allows you to order articles (which will be e-mailed to you) or books (which will be shipped to you). This is at no extra cost to you. Note: Books may take a while to arrive; so plan early!
- Your
public library card may offer access to additional databases. Check your hometown library's web site for access information and contact their librarians with questions. They may offer a chat function for realtime assistance.
