Law and Legal Studies

Finding books

Law books are for the most part shelved in the K section on the 6th floor of the library. To locate books, videos and other material in the Five College libraries use the links below. If you don't find the material you are seeking in any of these catalogs, search WorldCat and submit requests through interlibrary loan.

Subject search

In addition to keyword searching, you may also search by subject. Example subject headings in legal studies are listed below:

  • Brown v. Board of Education
  • Capital Punishment
  • Civil Rights Arab Americans
  • Dispute Resolution
  • Judicial Power
  • Jury
  • Law and Politics
  • Natural Law History
  • Prisoners Legal Status
  • Right to Die
  • Terrorism

For a complete list of Library of Congress subject headings used in the catalogs, consult the five volume set in Reference on the main floor of Du Bois at Ref Z695 L695. There is also a limited search function available at the Library of Congress web site.
