Graduate Student Grants Service

The first and best place to look for grant funding is Graduate Student Grants Service in 517 Goodell gsgs@grad.umass.edu or (413) 545-5279 or 5273 :

The Graduate Student Grant Service (GSGS) helps graduate students at UMass Amherst to seek extramural support for their studies. We show grad students how to identify and apply for fellowships and grants from sources outside the university. We support searches for funding for a variety of scholarly activities including research, overseas studies, dissertation work, and professional training.

GSGS offers the following services:

Offers links to databases that contain fellowship opportunities, deadlines, etc., and that allow individuals to set up an alert service profile

Posting of prominent fellowship opportunities through our bulletin board, Graduate Program Directors, and newsletter

Individual consultations by appointment via email, phone, and in person

Drop-in office hours

Departmental workshops
