Keeping Up
On Friday March 11th, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake hit the northeast region of Japan. A huge tsunami followed that had caused massive devastation, and now the officials are battling nuclear power plants that are damaged. As prepared as Japan is for earthquakes this was the most serious earthquake ever recorded.
Please note that the Japanese government has decided on an official name for the disaster as of 1 April. Previously called 東北地方太平洋沖地震 it is now known as 東日本大震災 (thanks to Chiaki Kato for letting me know).
