Welcome to the UMass Canadian History Research Guide! Here you will find resources that are geared specifically to the culture, history, and geography of North America and Canada. Provided are both resources that are supplied by UMass and resources found freely on the Internet.

    The Factbook provides information on the history, people, government, economy, energy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities.
  • Early English Books Online
    Digitized images of the original texts for over 100,000 literary and historical publications from 1475-1700.
  • Eighteenth Century Collections Online
    Digitized images of over 138,000 English and foreign titles published during the 18th century in the United Kingdom and the Americas.
    Core scholarly journals from a range of disciplines, dating from the earliest issue of each journal to a few years before present.
  • Oxford Companion to Canadian History
    Guide to significant topics in Canadian history.
  • Project Muse
    Scholarly journals in the humanities and social sciences published by university presses; searchable by journal issue, author, and keyword, 1996-present.
